Course Objectives

• Prepare workstations, kitchen tools and equipment to be ready before start of cooking

• Prepare food ingredients needed for cooking

• Follow the recipes to cook moist-heat dim sum dishes

• Store ingredients and finished products safely and to reinstate workstations

Recipes

• Chee Cheong Fun** (Steamed rice rolls with prawns and served with savoury sauce)

• Har Gao** (Prawn dumplings wrapped in a thin translucent skin

• Steamed Yam Cake** (Delicate cake with added chicken sausage and dried shrimp)

• Siew Mai** (Dumplings with prawn and chicken filling wrapped in wanton skin)

• Character Red Bean Bun* Cute character buns with sweet red bean filling

Admission Criteria

• 18 years old and above

• Primary education level

• Workplace Literacy & Numeracy Level: At least Level 2 (listening/ speaking and reading/writing)

Course Fees & Funding

• The course fee is S$545 (incl 9% GST) per participant

• To help companies and individuals offset the cost of training, SSG provides funding for the course fee
  (eligible for Singaporeans, PRs or LTVP+ holders only) and absentee payroll:

  • INDIVIDUALS - Between 50-70% course fee (depending on age)

  • SME - Up to 70% course fee

  • NON-SME- Up to 50% course fee

Assessment

• Participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment by SSG upon passing both written examination and practical assessment administered by Ascendo Academy

Cancellation & Refund

• Full Refund will be made if the course is cancelled due to lack of participants or unforeseen circumstances

• Any cancellations made after closing date (14 days to course date) – No Refund

• Any cancellations made before closing date (14 days to course date) – Full Refund

• Ascendo Academy reserves the right to cancel, reschedule the course, amend course content if necessary
